Having worked on countless bridal gowns before, we understand that trusting someone with one of the most important garments you will purchase can feel intimidating. I’m here to make it as easy and enjoyable as possible. All fittings are mobile, meaning you will have your bridal or bridal party fittings in the comfort of your own home with everything you need to hand.

At The Hem we also appreciate the busyness of modern, working life and adding planning a wedding on top of that can feel like an additional job, so  for that reason we offer out of hours appointments on evenings and weekends.

The best time to book in for your bridal alterations is actually straight after you’ve purchased your gown by sending an email to enquiries@thehem.co.uk. We will discuss how the dress is fitting (photos of you in the dress are always welcomed), what your goals are for the final look and timeline. If you are feeling particularly nervous we do offer virtual consultations ahead of fittings to discuss any worries you may have. 

Most brides will have 3 fittings beginning 12 weeks before the wedding with the final fitting being around 3 weeks before the big day. 

More complex or custom alterations may require more fittings and a more flexible timeline.

All you need to provide is a clear, bright space (ideally at least 2m x 2m, dining/living rooms are perfect!). I kindly ask that no pets or children (or fiances depending on your preference) in attendance.
